Habib Beye’s huge rant

In the wake of the victory won on the lawn of Le Havre (0-1), Habib Beye attacked the media, denouncing relentlessness against him.

Olympique de Marseille is still moving. If their performance was not very convincing, the Marseillais in fact won at Le Havre (0-1) on Sunday, thus grabbing a place in the standings and offering themselves a final for the Europa League, next Saturday, against Rennes.

Habib Beye nonetheless wore a mask at the end of the match and the Marseille coach took advantage of the press conference to criticize the media treatment to which he was subjected. The reason? Lies told about training being stopped prematurely this week.

“ I stopped training during the big session of the week. Two and a half minutes before the end. Not at all because of Mason Greenwood losing the ball, he first corrected. I felt at that moment that there was little point in going further in training. A coach must feel things. When the quality of training drops, the objective is not to say to yourself that you will continue for three minutes if you think that it is not the idea to continue. »

“I have rarely seen such relentlessness on a person”

“What bothers me is not what is said. These are the lies about me and my person. We will be very clear now. Today, these are lies that are being put in the public arena regarding Habib Beye, he continued, his gaze black. He is not the coach of Olympique de Marseille. I’ll tell you, when I read it, it didn’t mention Habib Beye, the coach of Olympique de Marseille. He marked Habib Beye. When I look at all the other coaches, I read well. He marked Bruno Genesio, the Lille coach. It marked Franck Haise, the Rennes coach. For me, Habib Beye was marked there…”

“The problem we have today is that we have entered a race for information, bad information and lies,” he denounced. A few weeks ago I spoke about journalistic ethics. And that’s where I think it’s a problem. The information must be verified. I never stopped training compared to Mason Greenwood. »

And the former defender was not done. “I have no problem with the idea that we can criticize the coach on the way of playing, on the results. I don’t watch what’s going on. On the other hand, I have a lot of people who tell me that. I have a family, I have children. And I can tell you that all the same, I have rarely seen such relentlessness in a person. Rarely. And I tell you, I am strong. I am very, very strong,”
he lambasted again, adding: “And I tell you, when we talk about the coach, I have no problem. When today, in articles, there is no longer even the mention of coach of Olympique de Marseille, I have a problem because I look at others too. And it’s not mentioned that way. That’s just what I’m saying. Now, once again, I am not to be pitied. »
