OM, it’s getting worse and worse

OM is sinking deeper and deeper into crisis, now with disciplinary measures which for some are incomprehensible.

Nothing will have been spared at OM this season. Shocking departures, results at half mast for cruel disillusionments and now a real institutional crisis, between a failing coach, a sports director at the end of his lease and a management in full transition, with no visibility on the short-term future.

The Marseillais still have two championship matches to honor – this Sunday in Le Havre then a week later at the Vélodrome against Rennes – to hope to finish with a European ticket in their pocket. It will certainly not be on the podium, which already represents a certain snub for the elite’s second budget.

Added to this sporting inadequacy these days is an electric atmosphere – Habib Beye and Medhi Benatia having lost the support of the players through forced and clearly unsuccessful layoffs. This week, some people wanted to unwind by organizing an impromptu party. An initiative that was not to the club’s liking.

“Everything Marseille does at the moment, it never works”

Presented as the main instigator of this schoolboy spree, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been sanctioned and will not be traveling to Normandy this weekend. An aberration according to Lionel Charbonnier. “ We must not see evil everywhere. They had fun, plus they are at the Commanderie. For me there is no problem », says the former AJA doorman in particular.

And the 1998 world champion added: “ There are some who will say to themselves that they got in trouble, etc. Anyway, everything Marseille does at the moment never works. You put them together, they have fun like kids, so much the better! And on the field, I find the same fun! I’ve been through some downgrades, we’ve done some stupid things. Maybe that means your going green worked well, they’re all together like kids, that doesn’t shock me. »
