The verdict fell in Serie B at the end of a final day full of emotions. Already assured of returning to the elite, the Venice players completed their season in style by winning the champion title after a solid success against Palermo (2-0). They will be accompanied in Serie A by Frosinone, who swept away all suspense by crushing Mantova with a clear score of 5-0. This demonstration of force, marked by an achievement by Algerian striker Farès Ghedjemis, officially validates their direct promotion. Behind this leading duo, the fight for the last entry ticket promises to be fierce between Monza, Palermo, Catanzaro, Modena, Juve Stabia and Avellino, who will have to go through the perilous roadblocks.

At the other end of the ranking, the results are dramatic for Reggiana, La Spezia and especially Pescara, all condemned to relegation to Serie C. For the Abruzzo club, the fall is particularly cruel despite the massive investments made recently. Having become co-owner last summer, Marco Verratti nevertheless tried everything by bringing back Lorenzo Insigne during the winter transfer window. But despite the burst of pride of the 2020 European champion, author of five goals and three assists in half a season, Pescara finished in last place in the championship and left the antechamber of the elite through the back door.
