An earthquake is currently destroying the Spanish capital. While a violent fight broke out between Aurélien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde, we now learn that Ferland Mendy’s recent injury is much more serious than expected. Three days ago, the French side was announced absent for the rest of the season by his club. A potential surgical intervention even had to be carried out.

But this Thursday, we learn through COPE that the player suffered a torn tendon with bone separation. Mendy could therefore be away from the Spanish lawns for a year. The former Lyonnais is facing his fifth injury this season, missing 29 matches with Casa Blanca. His nightmare seems endless in Madrid. He would even consider retiring… at only 30 years old.
