FC Barcelona is getting closer than ever to a new La Liga title. Thanks to its important victory on the Osasuna pitch, obtained thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, Hansi Flick’s team is now provisionally 14 points ahead of Real Madrid. In this context, the Blaugrana could even be crowned champions this weekend, provided that the Merengues do not win against Espanyol this Sunday evening.
A Madrid defeat or draw would then leave Real 14 or 13 points behind Barça with only 12 points still available, which would mathematically offer the title to the Catalans. On the other hand, if Real Madrid manages to win, the gap would drop to eleven points before the next Clasico, which could then become decisive in the title race. Barça would only need a draw to almost secure their coronation, while a victory would allow them to definitively bury Madrid’s last hopes.
