A true figure of Real Madrid for ten years, Daniel Carvajal will leave the club at the end of the current season, according to the Spanish press.

Without being adrift, Real Madrid has been a shadow of itself for some time. This season, the club chaired by Florentino Perez will finish without a single trophy to add to its showcase. It’s even worse than last year when a modest Intercontinental Cup came to save a very small part of the furniture. The real cause of the situation is linked to the workforce and its composition. Major executives have not been renewed. Another one is going to leave.

Of capital importance in the group and at the level of the defensive line, Daniel Carvajal is reaching the end of his adventure with Real Madrid. Arriving in the summer of 2013 after spending a year at Bayer Leverkusen, the man who was trained in Madrid’s Castilla has become an essential player, regardless of his coach.

Arriving in fourth position in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings, the thirty-four-year-old full-back has since been weighed down by repeated injuries. Hit in the right knee, he then fractured the distal phalanx of the fifth toe of his right foot. An injury which should keep him away from almost all of Real Madrid’s remaining La Liga matches. As Marca indicated this Saturday, Dani Carvajal could however return at the last minute for the final match at the Santiago Bernabeu against Athletic Bilbao.

Dani Carvajal, stop or still after Real Madrid?

In the meantime, the media has confirmed that Real Madrid has decided not to offer an extension to the Spanish international, due to his health becoming too fragile. In conflict with Alvaro Arbeloa, Dani Carvajal therefore reaches the end of his adventure in the Merengue jersey.

What will he decide this summer? Will he be able to put on his warm-up blue and join another team for a final challenge? At present, nothing seems less certain. The heavy decision was in any case taken at Real Madrid and it will now be necessary to ensure the arrival of a sufficiently seasoned player to take over.
