The nominees for the UNFP Trophies, which will crown the best player in Ligue 1, the best goalkeeper or the best coach, were revealed Thursday evening. With a few surprises.

Will the 2025 Ballon d’Or Ousmane Dembélé succeed one another in the UNFP Trophy for best player in Ligue 1? The answer will be given during the UNFP 2025 Trophies ceremony on Monday May 11, in Paris, the day after the penultimate day of Ligue 1. The nominees for the different categories were revealed Thursday evening on Ligue 1+. It should be noted that the players’ vote has already been carried out and that the list of “nominees” is in reality the top 5 of each ballot.

In addition to “Dembouz”, we find, for the title of best player in Ligue 1, his PSG teammates Vitinha and Nuno Mendes, the 2018 world champion Florian Thauvin, who wore RC Lens this season, the star striker of OM Mason Greenwood. The main absentees are Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Corentin Tolisso and the championship’s top scorer Esteban Lepaul. They will perhaps appear in the typical team of the season.

New raid by PSG at the UNFP Trophies?

We also find three PSG players for the UNFP Trophy for best prospect in Ligue 1: Warren Zaire-Emery, Désiré Doué and Joao Neves. Valentin Barco (Strasbourg) and Ayyoub Bouaddi (Losc) are also named. The best goalkeeper of last season Lucas Chevalier is obviously absent, but Matvey Safonov is also not present among the five best goalkeepers in Ligue 1 according to the players. Dominik Greif (OL), Mike Penders (Strasbourg), Robin Risser (Lens), Brice Samba (Rennes) and Hervé Koffi (Angers) are in the running for this award.

The coaches of the Parisians and the Sang et Or, Luis Enrique and Pierre Sage, are accompanied by Paulo Fonseca (OL), Olivier Pantaloni (FC Lorient) and Bruno Genesio (Losc) in the nominees for the best coach trophy.

The UNFP Trophies also elect the best French player abroad since 2016 and this year we find the title holder Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool), Michael Olise (Bayern Munich) and William Saliba (Arsenal).
