LdC: Bixente Lizarazu criticizes the penalty awarded to PSG

The decision is delicate to say the least. Last night, during the legendary meeting between PSG and Bayern Munich (5-4), a penalty was whistled in favor of the players from the capital. Indeed, Alphonso Davies failed to hide his hand on a cross that was about to arrive in the Bavarians’ penalty area. The referee of the match went to see the VAR to make his decision… and Ousmane Dembélé was able to strike (3-2, 45+5th). However, for Bixente Lizarazu, former 1998 world champion, these situations are very disturbing.

“In Alphonso Davies’ place, would you have understood that you were being awarded a penalty for such an action? It’s not because it’s Bayern but, as a defender, these penalties are unbearable, regardless of notions of natural body enlargement. As if it were natural to have to defend with your hands behind your back. For me, these penalties should not be whistled” he indicated to The Team after the C1 meeting at the Parc des Princes.
