Greenwood, the inevitable transfer

The chances of seeing Mason Greenwood stay at OM next season have melted like snow in the sun.

Arriving at Olympique de Marseille from Manchester United for 26 million euros in the summer of 2024, the striker of Jamaican origin through his mother would today be worth more than double according to
TransferMarkt.

Knowing that the Marseille club risks not qualifying for the next league phase of the Champions League, there is little doubt about his departure during the off-season. Éric Di Meco does not imagine the England international spending a third consecutive season in Marseille colors.

“Will this boy want to stay in a project without the Champions League, with clubs who will come to see him with salaries which will perhaps be very significant? History will naturally be resolved in the interest of both parties”imagines the sports consultant in RMC’s “Super Moscato Show”.

Greenwood and OM are bound to end badly

Sunday, during the closing match of the 31st day of Ligue 1 against OGC Nice, Mason Greenwood was on the substitutes’ bench. His case would pose a problem in the Marseille locker room.

“I think it will end with a transfer where OM will take its money. It’s the club’s highest market value,” underlined Éric Di Meco. Will the former Red Devils player start for the next OM match, scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m., on the pitch at FC Nantes?
