Two days before the Champions League semi-final first leg between PSG and Bayern Munich, UEFA has unveiled the refereeing body for the match.

D-2 before a European shock. This Tuesday, April 28, Paris Saint-Germain hosts FC Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes in the semi-final first leg of the Champions League. Objective for the Parisians: take an option on a second consecutive C1 final against the Bavarians in great shape.

Two days before the match, UEFA formalized the refereeing body for this poster. The meeting will be led by Sandro Schärer, a Swiss referee already seen this season in European competitions, notably in the Europa League after a stint in the Champions League during the round of 16 between Sporting and Bodo/Glimt.

A bad memory for the Bavarians

He will be accompanied by a Spanish trio on the sides with Angel Nevado and Guadalupe Porras Ayuso, while the role of fourth referee will be taken by Jesus Gil Manzano. A designation that never goes unnoticed, as its name is regularly associated with controversial decisions. VAR will be entrusted to Carlos del Cerro Grande, assisted by Guillermo Cuadra Fernández.

A choice that does not leave both camps indifferent. Schärer notably refereed PSG’s large victory against Atalanta Bergamo (4-0) earlier in the season, while Bayern has more bitter memories of him after his elimination against Inter Milan last year, a meeting still remembered on the Bavarian side.
