Just a Moroccan international at 29 years old since the March break, Issa Diop has been well established in the Premier League since 2018. Now at Fulham, the former Toulouse player spoke to the newspaperTeam to discuss his dietary discipline for several seasons now. He decided to hire a personal chef to maximize his lifestyle and avoid injuries.

“I have already had three bosses including Ibrahim Mbaye following me since I signed for Fulham (August 2022). He works Monday to Friday with mainly evening meals. He does my shopping. We agree on the schedule at the start of the week. It was mostly at the beginning so he knew my preferences. He makes me dinners at a set time, around 8 p.m. He also cooks for my wife and sometimes my children. Having your own cook avoids “junk food”. Organic, sometimes, doesn’t mean anything either. He knows. He will look for quality with a lot of diversity in organic products. When you’re in London, you can find everything. He also collaborates with the club’s nutritionist. They change depending on the day with large sessions for more starchy foods. It also adapts according to my blood tests with diets giving more iron, such as based on lentils, or vitamins C or D. It is a cost. I pay personally. But, it’s a good investment in myself. I prefer a good diet, beneficial for my health, to buying a bigger car! I am 29 years old. If it can allow me to win three or four good seasons, it will be money to win in the end. My body is my work tool. »
