Victim of a ruptured right Achilles tendon during the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League against PSG (0-2, 0-2), Hugo Ekitike saw his season come to a sudden end. Already out for the end of the season and the next World Cup, the French international has begun his rehabilitation phase.
The first step was to have surgery and it is now done. The former PSG striker was operated on five days ago in London by a medical team historically linked to Liverpool players. An intervention supervised by the surgeon of basketball player Jayson Tatum, victim of the same injury in May 2025.
