This Sunday, the Premier League holds its breath for the summit clash between Manchester City and Arsenal at 5:30 p.m. In the meantime, the traditional 3 p.m. multiplex took place. And a big poster awaited us on the banks of the Mersey with the derby between Everton and Liverpool. Swept by PSG in the Champions League, the Reds had to pull themselves together against their enemy. From the start, Arne Slot’s men were caught at the entrance gorge (6th, 15th). Authors of a good start, the Toffees believed they opened the scoring thanks to Iliman Ndiaye (28th). Ultimately, the goal was disallowed due to an offside by Jake O’Brien, who sent in the cross. In the process, Mohamed Salah opened the scoring after a delightful pass from Gakpo (0-1, 29th). A goal that made Salah enter Liverpool history with this goal. Despite the pressure, Liverpool returned to the break with a one-goal lead. Returning from the locker room, Everton quickly got back into the game.

Following superb work from Dewsbury-Hall, Beto equalized. In the action, the Lisbon-born striker injured Giorgi Mamardashvili. In the absence of Alisson and with the injury of the Georgian goalkeeper, Freddy Woodman came into play. For the last half hour of play, Liverpool pushed to regain the lead. After numerous actions and the impactful entry of Rio Ngumoha, the Reds snatched victory at the very end of the match. From a final corner, Virgil Van Dijk rose higher than everyone to score the winning goal (1-2, 90+9th). With this victory, Liverpool climbs to 5th place. Everton stagnates in 8th place. The most prolific match of the afternoon was in Birmingham. With a great Watkins and a Morgan Rogers scoring after returning from the locker room, Aston Villa led 3-1 in the 46th minute of play. Far from having given up, Sunderland reduced the gap then equalized in two minutes of play thanks to goals from Hume (3-2, 87th) and Isidor (3-3, 88th). Finally, it was Tammy Abraham, on a ball from Digne, who gave Villa the victory (4-3, 90+3rd). The Villans come back to level with Manchester United. Finally, Nottingham Forest crushed Burnley with a hat-trick from Gibbs-White in 15 minutes (4-1).
