After the sad defeat of Manchester United at home against Leeds United (1-2), Bruno Fernandes did not look for excuses at the microphone of Sky Sports. The captain of the Red Devils particularly pointed out the lack of intensity of his team in the first half: “We let the match slip away in the first half. We didn’t manage to get into the rhythm, especially in the aggression and the duels. They came to press man against man, we had to be better on the first and second balls”.

Fernandes also insisted on his team’s insufficient reaction despite being able to come back in the second half. “We weren’t good, we left too much space. We had time to come back after the break, but it wasn’t possible.”he admitted. Also asked about the arbitration decisions, after the expulsion of Lisandro Martínez, the 31-year-old Portuguese almost completely broke down: “I’m not talking about the referee, otherwise I would have big problems, the rules are not applied in the same way for everyone”he said, before concluding that this failure does not call into question the club’s ambitions in the race for the Champions League.
