MU: Neville campaigns for Carrick

On January 13, Manchester United appointed Michael Carrick until the end of the season, in a rather thankless role of firefighter on duty, and with no real future. 3 months later, the former midfielder has turned things around spectacularly, with MU occupying 3rd place in the Premier League. Since his appointment, Carrick has only lost one match! The star consultant of Skysports Gary Neville assured that it would be impossible not to see him continue his mission beyond this season, even though he was campaigning for a coach with a much more extensive CV.

“I think we are getting to a point where Michael Carrick will be appointed manager of Manchester United within a month or so. If he finishes third in the championship in relation to their position… (…) There are many positive points which argue in favor of the appointment of Michael Carrick. I had initially stated that Manchester United should hire a world-class manager, with experience of top-level football, having won titles and been in the Champions League. Some candidates I nominated at the time have disappeared from the list because they found other jobs or continued working elsewhere. I maintain that if Manchester United can sign a Luis Enrique they should explore that avenue, but the work Michael Carrick has done with his coaching staff is exceptional. (…) I think it is inevitable that they will give him the job in the next four to six weeks”declared the former right-back on Skysports. Manchester United also welcomes Leeds this Monday evening to close the 32nd day of the Premier League.
