At just 20 years and 9 months, Désiré Doué struck hard against Colombia, scoring a double which places him alongside Kylian Mbappé in the history of the Blues. He thus becomes the youngest player to score a double in the French jersey since the Parisian prodigy, who scored twice against Argentina in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup at 19 years and 6 months.

This double confirms Doué’s rapid emergence at the highest international level and reinforces his status as an essential young talent for the French team. By matching Mbappé, he sends a strong signal to Didier Deschamps and his competitors in the offensive sector, while announcing that he will now have to be counted on in the race for the 2026 World Cup.
