Publicly appointed new coach of Espoirs by the FFF, Thierry Henry has yet to sign his federal contract…
It was Monday: the French Football Federation proudly unveiled the identity of the new coach of the French Espoirs, in the person of Thierry Henry. Two days later, everyone went there with their comments and their approval. Yes but now, the person concerned has still not signed his contract at this time.
According to L’Equipe, the commitment of the former coach of AS Monaco and the Montreal Impact is not in question but all the contractual details have not yet been settled. One of the sticking points concerns the Bleuets’ equipment supplier – Nike – while Thierry Henry is personally sponsored by Puma.
A role of consultant discussed
Another situation to be clarified is that of his status as a consultant. A priori, the legendary Arsenal Gunners striker will no longer be on Prime Video, but his role as a commentator on CBS remains subject to discussion. Finally, the staff of Espoirs is not yet fully defined. For the moment, the FFF has validated the post of assistant to Gérald Baticle. Gaël Clichy and Lionel Rouxel, the coach of the France U19 team, are also approached.
