Adama Traore, the 30-year-old Spanish winger known for his impressive physique, has been formally banned from bodybuilding by his coach at West Ham, Nuno Espirito. Arriving this winter from Fulham and under contract until June 2027, Traoré has naturally very developed muscles, almost that of a bodybuilder, which encourages his coach to preserve it. “His genetics have been like this for some time now and he should avoid the gym. I told him not to go to the gym”explained Nuno Espirito at a press conference, emphasizing the importance of adapting physical work to each player.
The Portuguese also specified that Adama Traoré will only focus on prevention and mobility exercises, without lifting heavy loads. “He will do prevention work, but he will not be there to lift weights. For example, Airidas Golambeckis, our young 18-year-old defender, spends hours in the gym to gain muscle. We need him to gain weight, not Traoré”added Nuno Espirito Santo with a touch of humor, recalling that he had already managed Traoré at Wolverhampton between 2018 and 2021. This decision aims to optimize the Spaniard’s performance while preserving his natural physical condition. Especially since Traoré is also known for his speed on the right wing.
