This Saturday, the traditional Bundesliga multiplex in the afternoon offered us five important matches at all levels. In the race for the podium, Hoffenheim made a big operation on the lawn of the red lantern Heidenheim. The visitors did the job by taking a comfortable three-goal advantage thanks to Prass’ double before the break and then Asllani’s goal after the locker room. Despite a more messy last half hour, Hoffenheim secured the essentials with a victory (2-4) which allows it to regain its 3rd place on the podium, overtaking Stuttgart and Leipzig. Traveling to Mainz, VfB was unable to control the end of the match and conceded a goal in added time (2-2, 90+2nd) after overthrowing their host of the day with two goals in quick succession via Demirovic (76th) and Undav (77th). A frustrating result which leaves Sébastien Hoeness’ team stagnating in fourth place.

Leipzig won against Augsburg thanks to another achievement from Yan Diomandé and an own goal at the very end of the match to catch up with Stuttgart in fifth place. For its part, Leverkusen was unable to manage a perilous trip to Freiburg. After coming back to score twice, the Werkself took the advantage thanks to Martin Terrier returning from the locker room (2-3, 52nd). Ultimately, the B04 was unable to keep the score and was caught at the end of the match with a goal from Ginter (3-3, 86th). Bayer is three points behind Stuttgart and Leipzig, five behind Hoffenheim. Finally, Wolfsburg lost again this Saturday. Having not won in the league since January 14, Christian Eriksen’s teammates opened the scoring from the penalty spot… before conceding two penalties in turn. With this setback, Wolfsburg is stuck in 17th place.

The results from 3:30 p.m.:
