One more. Thursday, the daily The Parisian revealed a completely absurd new affair surrounding a PSG personality. It all started with Patrice Evra, or at least his ex-partner Sandra Evra. The latter, after discovering a mysterious box in front of her home and after checking with her neighbors, decided to open it. Inside, a camera and a microphone. And in the process, the complaint from the ex-wife of the captain of the Blues allowed the police to find GPS tracking devices and other boxes with microphones and cameras under the cars of the main interested party. Two people were arrested and the investigation made it possible to find another target of this attempted burglary: Yohan Cabaye. The same boxes were found in front of the home of the director of the PSG training center. This is not new, for a good ten years, the Hauts-de-Seine sector and more generally PSG celebrities have been targeted.
Before Yohan Cabaye, a very long list of Parisian players were victims of organized crime. How can we not think of the most memorable story, the one which concerns not a player but a player with Kheira Hamraoui. The latter had been hit in the legs in a sort of stunt, where the name of her now ex-teammate Aminata Diallo had been mentioned. In the men’s team, it was Parisian captain Marquinhos who was robbed while he was traveling with PSG in 2021. Worse still, his father present on the scene (with his two daughters) had been attacked by the burglars. Cash and luxury bags had been stolen. During the same match, another player was also robbed in Neuilly-sur-Seine: Ángel Di María.
A developed network
Here again, the burglars had targeted the PSG striker’s apartment for a while and had managed to gain entry through one of the terraces while his family was at home. 500,000 euros had been stolen from the safe of this apartment. Since then, the men behind these burglaries have been arrested and this has made it possible to establish a link with an important network close to the greatest burglar films. This same network that had also tried to break into Julian Draxler’s house. The attempt was narrowly missed when a man was surprised on the roof of one of his neighbors and a surveillance drone was discovered. But the German international came very close to being sequestered at home and the six men who planned this “home-jacking” were arrested.
The German international has been added to the very long list of Parisians targeted. Before him, Thiago Silva and Eric Choupo-Moting had also been victims of burglaries by members of the same network. For the Brazilian, his mansion in the 16th arrondissement had been robbed. More recently, a former Parisian was cited: Ezequiel Lavezzi. The Argentinian saw his apartment in Neuilly-sur-Seine being burglarized in his absence. Outside of PSG, in the same city, Dayot Upamecano’s triplex was broken into and the criminals recovered luxury watches and multimedia devices. This area is regularly targeted by the organized crime network and for many years, the Banditry Repression Brigade (BRB) has been building up, one thing leading to another, a colossal network which has made PSG players the perfect target.
