Identified by Olympique de Marseille as one of the players capable of bailing out its coffers, Mattéo Guendouzi (24) is getting closer to departure. Originally, the midfielder seemed set to return to the Premier League where West Ham were eyeing him. But the offers were long in coming. In the end, it is in Italy that the former Lorient is heading.

Yesterday, the Italian and Marseille media explained that Lazio was pushing to sign the player whose contract expires in 2025. A first Roman offer was even announced as imminent. For its part, OM, which is looking to replenish its coffers, especially after elimination in the Champions League, would be willing to let go of its player for around twenty million euros.

A transfer of €22 million?

A price that was reminded of the Turks of Galatasaray, rebuffed after an offer of 15 M€. According to our information, negotiations with Lazio are progressing. The two clubs were recently discussing a transfer estimated at around €22m. It is in any case the prize hoped for by the Olympians. The Italians only offer 15 and bonuses. Lazio have been clear: Guendouzi is the top priority to strengthen their midfield.

Better, we can add that the transalpine leaders want to conclude the business as of this week. It must be said that time is running out, nine days before the last day of the transfer window. Everything should therefore accelerate, especially since Guendouzi said he was open to a departure for the Italian capital.
