Pablo Longoria wants more Darryl Bakola and Robinio Vaz at OM. During his traditional mid-season press briefing, the Marseille boss announced that the club’s objective was to produce even more local talent in the future. He also expressed his regret at seeing the very young Samba Konaté (16 years old) make his debut with Leipzig, after having passed through the Marseille training center in recent years.
“We must work with consistency and unity. There is an important development, I am very happy with the work of Titou (Hasni, director of the training center) and the involvement of Medhi (Benatia). If you get involved in working with young people, it happens again with the first team. The hardest thing is having the courage to put them on the field. We want to continue in this direction with the training center. We want more local talent. When (Samba) Konaté started with Leipzig (against Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, at the beginning of December), it hurt my heart because he came through the club and made his first appearance elsewhere.»
