Saudi Arabia has not finished recruiting from major European clubs. And in particular to FC Barcelona, which has already sold Franck Kessié to Al-Ahli. But the Catalan daily Sport informs that, in recent days, a Saudi club has tried to enlist Sergi Roberto, the new captain of Barça. The club’s identity hasn’t leaked but they were ready to shell out around €15m for the Catalan’s transfer.

The Blaugrana team listened to the offer and spoke to their versatile 31-year-old defender, who refused to leave and preferred to honor his contract year as first-team captain. Moreover, Xavi Hernandez is still counting on him for this season. As a reminder, Sergi Roberto renewed at the beginning of last year for an additional season.
