Manchester City said on Tuesday that Pep Guardiola had back surgery. The English club have specified that their coach will return around mid-September.

The secret had been well kept and the information only came out on Tuesday. Suffering from his back for some time, Pep Guardiola returned to Barcelona in recent days to undergo an operation. Manchester City issued a statement to confirm that all went well and that their manager should now observe a recovery period. The Spaniard’s return is expected to come in the second half of September.
