Marquinhos became a little more part of the PSG legend yesterday. On the occasion of Tottenham’s reception in the Champions League (5-3), the captain played his 500th match in the Red and Blue colors. He already holds the appearance record for the capital club and hopes to take his personal figure even higher. Under contract until 2028, the 31-year-old Brazilian would like to go all the way and even further if his body and his level allow him. He aims to finish his career at the club, having already been there for more than 12 years. He knows it will be complicated, especially in the face of ever-stronger competition made up of younger players overflowing with goals.

Honestly, I’m not saying no. We know that always being at a high level until the end of your career… because if you are at PSG, you have to be at a high level and you have to be good, the competition is there, there are young players who are arriving, who are pushing and they want their placehe says on RMC. And you have to continue to be very good until you’re 38, 37 years old. I don’t know when I’m going to stop my career, I want to play for a long time, as much as possible, I think I’m going to give everything for these colors. I’m 31 years old, I’ve accomplished lots of goals, I don’t want to look for goals elsewhere as long as I feel good, happy, loved, as long as I feel that I still have my place in the team, that the president is happy with my performances. And the coach too, because he is the boss of the team. As long as I like it, as long as I’m happy and they’re also happy with my performances, why not. I will give everything so that I can stay as long as possible.»
