A week after the start of the French, English and Spanish championships, Serie A resumed this weekend at the same time as the Bundesliga. For this first day of the elite of Italian football, Juventus and Lazio moved respectively on the lawn of Udinese and Lecce. In the first encounter, the Old Lady had a perfect first half with goals from Federico Chiesa, Dusan Vlahovic and Adrien Rabiot
to permanently shelter the Bianconeri before the break. On returning from the locker room, the locals were gradually gaining momentum but the Juventus defense held firm until the final whistle despite numerous chances on Wojciech Szczesny’s goal.
In the second game of the evening, Lazio also got off to a very good start thanks to a goal from their captain, Ciro Immobile. But in the second period, the premises reversed the situation through Pontus Almqvist and Federico Di Francesco at the very end of the match. Thanks to its victory, Juventus is starting this new Serie A season in the best possible way, while the Laziale will have to recover from this first disappointment. On the next day, the Bianconeri will host Bologna in Turin next weekend. For its part, Lazio will find Genoa to start its season after this particularly hard to swallow defeat.
