Last Saturday, Kylian Mbappé shone again at the Bernabéu. The 26-year-old striker scored twice in Real Madrid’s victory against Valencia (4-0), counting for the eleventh day of La Liga.

Thanks to this performance, the captain of the French team sits at the top of the scorers’ rankings in the Spanish championship, with thirteen goals, well ahead of Julian Alvarez and his seven units. Since the start of his career, the former Paris Saint-Germain player has found the net 235 times in the league.

An impressive statistic and far from trivial. Indeed, it allows him to climb onto the podium of the best French scorers in the history of the five major championships. Thus, the native of the 19th arrondissement of Paris passes Thierry Henry and his 233 goals scored between 1995 and 2012.

Mbappé erases Thierry Henry from the shelves

Kylian Mbappé is now only ahead of Karim Benzema (281 goals) and Bernard Lacombe (255). Barring a cataclysm, it will inevitably end up surpassing these. As with Olivier Giroud and his record for goals scored in the Rooster jersey, the question is not whether the record will be broken but when it will be.

“Since I was little, I have dreamed of scoring goals. All children who start playing football dream of scoring, of scoring again and again”explained the Bondy prodigy last Friday at Marcaon the sidelines of his presentation of the Golden Shoe.
