Dramatic news coming to us from Milan. Inter Milan's replacement goalkeeper and Yann Sommer's understudy, Josep Martinez (27) has played 2 Serie A matches this season. The Spanish goalkeeper, who was on his way to training this morning, was involved in a fatal road accident. In fact, he hit a man in a wheelchair while he was driving his car around 9:30 this morning.
The latter had suffered from illness and found himself on the road when Josep Martinez was at the wheel. Emergency services attempted to rescue the 81-year-old man who ultimately died despite attempts to resuscitate him. While he was supposed to attend a press conference, Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu canceled the press conference following this tragic event.
