RC Lens won against Olympique de Marseille (2-1) this Saturday in Ligue 1. A meeting which was also marked by the reunion of Florian Thauvin with his former team.
After the match, the Sang et Or number 10 gave his feelings in the mixed zone about playing against OM, where he lived his best years. Straightforward, the Orléanais recognized how difficult it was to face his “heart club”.
“On a psychological level, it was not easy”
“It was really hard to start this match for me, because Marseille is my favorite club. I spent half my career there, so obviously playing against them today… I didn't have my ass between two chairs, but close. Because I have to represent RC Lens, a club to which I am becoming very attached. A club that looks like OM, too” explained the French striker at the microphone of Téléfoot this Sunday.
Thauvin, however, does not regret his choice to have joined the northern club this summer, without denying the disadvantages. “I think it was the right compromise for me, to come back to France. But indeed, on a psychological level, it was not easy”he added.
