West Ham continues to sink

West Ham's cataclysmic start to the Premier League season continues. With only one victory on the clock after eight days, Nuno Espirito Santo's men fell once again this Friday, as they traveled to Leeds (2-1, 9th day).

For their part, the locals took advantage of the arrival of a team in bad shape to return to victory after two defeats in a row. And they quickly took the lead, scoring in the third minute through Brendan Aaronson. In the process, they made the break thanks to Joe Rondon (2-0, 15th).

West Ham reacts too late

Lucas Paqueta thought he could reduce the gap for West Ham, but the former OL player saw his goal refused for offside (34th). Much more enterprising in the second half, the Hammers ended up finding the fault, but Mateus Fernandes' goal arrived very late (2-1, 90th) and there was no longer enough time for Jean-Clair Todibo and his team to come back.

In the provisional ranking, West Ham is trudging along in nineteenth and penultimate place, with four small points on the clock. Leeds took advantage of this success to move up to thirteenth place, while awaiting the rest of this ninth day of the championship.
