The financial situation of FC Barcelona remains critical. Despite numerous levers activated by Joan Laporta in recent years, with the sale of club assets, the Barcelonans are still in trouble and the financial fair play of La Liga does not give them any respite. Last season, the club ended its financial year with a loss of 17 million euros after taxes, revealed by the club's management during an event with the members on Sunday.

And above all, during this assembly, the club's debts with other European teams were revealed. These are amounts which still have to be paid following transfers made in recent years, and which must be paid in several installments, which remains fairly normal in the operation of the transfer window. We learn, for example, that the club still owes 13 million euros to Manchester City for Ferran Torres, or 10 million euros to Bayern for Robert Lewandowski, who is currently crystallizing tensions in Barcelona.

Huge amounts

The transfer of Dani Olmo will still be expensive for a while, since the club still has to pay 19 million euros to Leipzig in the short term, and 15 million euros in the long term. 17 million euros are also due to Paranaense for Vitor Roque, who has already returned to Brazil. In total, the club still owes €159 million to finalize payments on many of the transfers. And above all, Ligue 1 clubs must still be compensated, even if it is not necessarily significant sums.

If Barça still has to pay 24.5 million euros to finish paying Jules Koundé in Seville, the Girondins de Bordeaux must receive €359,000 from the Catalans under the concept of training rights, just like the amateur club La Brede FC, which must receive €80,000. In the Raphinha deal – Leeds still expects 42 million euros – Rennes must still recover €32,000. Joan Laporta will therefore still have to put his hand in his pocket.
