Since 2014, the year in which he ended his football career, Mickaël Landreau has been part of the Canal Football Club group of sports consultants. The former goalkeeper therefore had the opportunity to work with Pierre Ménès for a few years, even if he was absent between 2017 and 2019 while he had his first coaching experience at FC Lorient.

And, the least we can say is that the sports journalist did not carry it in his heart. He regularly criticizes him. Sometimes he even insults her. Last March, the man who now serves as sports advisor and spokesperson for the refereeing department was described as
“twisted” and of “zero balls”.

More recently, the French international has once again taken for his rank.
“I can’t beat this guy”declared Pierre Ménès during one of his YouTube videos where he attacked refereeing in Ligue 1. Perhaps the straw that broke the camel's back because Mickaël Landreau ended up responding to him in an incendiary letter.

Pierre Ménès, Landreau unleashes a firefight

“You are one of those who destroy everything to exist, without ever thinking about the consequences. You even go so far as to mention my so-called fake-ass attitude on the Canal+ set. What a joke coming from you, Mr. Pierre Ménès! But it was you who behaved far from unanimously. STOP role reversal »writes the native of Machecoul in his blog.

In 2021, Pierre Ménès left Canal+, after having collaborated for almost twelve years with the audiovisual group, in which he had become an emblematic figure thanks to his role as sniper of the “Canal Football Club”. The sports journalist did not “survive” the broadcast of the documentary “I am not a slut, I am a journalist” by
Marie Portolano.
