The announcement, made last Monday by the FFF, surprised more than one: Zack Nani, the content creator with 900,000 subscribers on YouTube, will broadcast the matches of the France Espoirs team until Euro 2027 (excluding the final phase). A partnership which began the same day, with the big victory won by the Bleuets against Estonia (6-1) in the qualifiers.

The videographer, who recently also obtained the rights to the Saudi Pro League, has achieved another very nice shot. But this partnership has raised eyebrows within the authorities, notably at LFP Media, whose general director Nicolas de Tavernost would have very much liked to be able to enrich the catalog of its Ligue 1+ platform with the matches of the French U21s.

Zack Nani in a minefield

The leader of the League may have it all the more bad as the “3F” would have given up the broadcasting of the Bleuets for a ridiculous price. According to information from The Teamthe agreement with the YouTuber would have been concluded around 60,000 euros. An amount “covering barely more than production costs and match purchases when the Bleuets play away”indicates the daily.

This figure was denied by the streamer. “I can’t give it but the figure of 60,000 euros is completely wronghe assured the media, adding that his offer “includes an exclusivity clause”. “The rights had been open for many weeks. In September, the Espoirs friendly teams were on the FFF YouTube channel. They were there, you just had to pick them. »

Why, in these conditions, was Ligue 1+ not asked to offer the France Espoirs team to its subscribers? According to Daniel Riolo, on RMC, Nicolas de Tavernost would be at odds with certain club presidents, including that of PSG Nasser Al-KhelaĂŻfi, with whom the president of the FFF Philippe Diallo is currently negotiating the rights to the Coupe de France for beIN Sports.

Les Bleuets finally in Ligue 1+?

It is therefore in this minefield that Zack Nani, who had spent “a sum beyond six figures” to win the Saudi championship, set foot. He could also soon no longer be the only broadcaster of the Bleuets since, dixit The Teamhis contract would not be “not yet signed” with the Federation, which against all odds could finally also come to an agreement with… Ligue 1+.

“It doesn’t have much value.replied the Internet star. Everything is already sealed and I don't think the FFF will be able to give co-broadcasting rights to the League without going through me. We agreed on a volume of matches and a price which includes exclusivity. (…) If the League is so interested, I can't wait for us to sit around a table to see how to satisfy everyone. »
