Solid second in Group F of the Africa zone qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, Gabon is playing a final home match this Tuesday against Burundi. Without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, sanctioned with a red in the previous match, the Gabonese, however, have ample means to dominate their opponent of the day.

Burundi has already lost any chance of qualifying, trailing in penultimate position in its group with ten points on the clock. What's more, he remains on three setbacks in a row. The challenge is entirely on Gabon’s side.

To avoid having to worry about the ranking of the best runners-up, the Panthers will have to win and count on a misstep from the Ivorian leader (draw or defeat) who is facing Kenya at the same time. Otherwise, they will have to go through the play-offs to try to validate their ticket for the very first World Cup in their history.
