Premier League: former referee pleads guilty to child pornography

It was an affair that sickened all of England. David Coote, former Premier League referee between 2018 and 2024, was arrested in February after child pornography images were found on his computer. A case classified at the highest level of seriousness in cases dealing with abuse or sexual assault of children on the other side of the Channel.

While he was to be tried this Thursday, the 43-year-old official finally pleaded guilty in this vile affair this Tuesday as indicated in the BBC. Last September, the former referee pleaded not guilty. A heavy sentence awaits the latter, also linked to accusations of corruption and taking illicit substances in the past.
