Harry Maguire hopes to extend his contract with Manchester United by the end of 2025. According to the daily The Suneight months before the expiration of his current lease, discussions are already underway between the representatives of the 32-year-old English defender and the club's management, in particular with Matt Hargreaves, responsible for football negotiations. In January, United activated a clause automatically extending his contract by one year, at the request of manager Ruben Amorim, who also included Maguire in the new group of captains put in place this summer.
Despite a 25% pay cut linked to Manchester United's failure to qualify for the Champions League in May 2024, reducing his income to around 161,000 euros per week, Maguire could retain these conditions in a possible new contract. He is now the oldest of the club's five professional central defenders and has played 38 of the 50 matches managed by Amorim.
