Ligue 1+ has reason to rejoice. Nearly two months after its official launch, the French championship's broadcast platform has already crossed the symbolic milestone of one million subscribers, at the end of the fourth day of Ligue 1. A success driven by an attractive offer and prices designed to appeal to a wide audience.

Offered at 14.99 euros per month, the basic formula allows access to eight out of nine matches each day, exclusively and live, the ninth being broadcast on beIN Sports. To encourage the start-up, a promotional offer of 9.99 euros per month for the first three months was also put in place.

But this pricing policy could soon change. During the Demain le Sport event, Nicolas de Tavernost, general manager of LFP Media, confirmed that prices could be increased in the future, particularly if the platform recovers all Ligue 1 matches.

“A rise in the price” of Ligue 1+

“If there are nine matches, it won’t be the same price, that’s for sure. There will be an increase in the price”he declared, while specifying that new offers will be offered, like the preferential rate for those under 26 (9.99 euros per month).

In terms of ambitions, the channel does not intend to stop there: 1.15 million subscribers are targeted by the end of the season, and 2.25 million by 2029, i.e. at the end of the fourth season of operation. Ligue 1+ is gradually establishing itself as a key player in the French sports audiovisual landscape. However, the revenue generated by the channel is worrying.
