Every summer, his name comes up in the transfers section. And every summer, his departure is announced. Rodrygo Goes has decided to put an end to this recurring soap opera which surrounds his future. The Brazilian striker, Real Madrid's offensive pillar for several seasons, wanted to clarify his position after months of speculation about a possible departure. And the message is unambiguous: he doesn't plan to move from Madrid anytime soon.

Rodrygo: “I will have to be kicked out”

Last summer was no exception. Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal have all expressed interest in Rodrygo, who is entering his seventh season at Real. His representatives did receive offers, but the person concerned never considered leaving the Spanish capital. “ Every summer it's the same story, he told the daily AS. Of course, there are always offers. But I have always been clear: I want to continue to succeed here. » A statement which brushes aside rumors of tensions with Xabi Alonso, his new coach, with whom he established himself as a starter from the first weeks of the season.

Rodrygo doesn't hide it: he sees himself in Madrid for the long term.
“As long as Real Madrid want me, I will stay,” he insisted. If one day the club says to me: “Rodry, find yourself a team”, I will do it. But that never happened. » A strong sentence, seen as an oath of allegiance to a club with which he has already won two Champions Leagues. At only 24 years old, the former Santos player dreams of lifting others under the white tunic.

A summer of baseless speculation

If he kept silent for a long time during the transfer window, Rodrygo affirms that this did not reflect any discomfort. “People speculated because I didn't speak, but I was calm. I knew what I was going to do this season with Real and that I was going to concentrate on my work. » This serenity contrasts with the media agitation that has surrounded him since his beginnings and testifies to a deep attachment to the Madrid club.

By recalling his loyalty and his ambition, Rodrygo sends a clear signal to his leaders and supporters: he intends to embody the offensive future of Real Madrid alongside Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Jr. While the club has embarked on a new era with Xabi Alonso, the Brazilian international intends to play a major role in the successes to come. And if he has to leave one day, it will not be by choice, but because he is forced to.
