Olivier Dall'oglio finally comes out of silence and swings everything. The former coach of the Greens reveals the false promises and strategic errors which precipitated the Stéphanoise relegation. His shattering confessions point to two major dysfunctions of Kilmer Sports Ventures.
First lie: “promise Ligue 1”
The most explosive revelation concerns Djylian N'Guessan, the crack of the training center. To avoid his departure abroad, the leaders made a promise that they could not hold: “To keep it, he was promised Ligue 1”. At just 16 years old, the 2008 native was not ready for the elite according to Dall'oglio, but the competitive pressure pushed the ASSE to lie.
This lying strategy has also applied to Mathis Amougou. The former coach reveals: “He had the ambition to play in Ligue 1 at 17, but I told him that he had to show me that he could.” Result: two young overvalued talents, unrealistic expectations and additional pressure on an already fragile group.
Second lie: “These recruits will be efficient”
The second major dysfunction concerns the unsuitable transfer window of the summer of 2024. Dall'oglio denounces the blindness of the leaders: “What can be surprising when one is a leader of a certain level is to think that a boy who arrives from New Zealand (Ben Old) or Austria (Augustine Boakye), very young, will be immediately efficient”.
The former coach had anticipated these difficulties from the offseason and alerted management. He demanded “one or two experienced players” to facilitate integration, but came up against the categorical refusal of kilmer sports ventures. Ben Old was injured for six months, confirming the fears of the technical staff.
Dall'oglio denounces the lies that have sabotaged ASSE
Overwhelming evidence
Dall'oglio reveals to have “Long spoken on recruitment” With Ivan Gazidis, insisting on the shortcomings to fill. In particular, he wanted to recover Sergi Cardona, whom he knew well, but “It was not in their plan”. Ironically, ASSE recruited the Spaniard … After the ouster of Dall'oglio, when the club was already in great difficulty.
The former coach assumes his share of responsibility while denouncing the stubbornness of the leaders: “You had to be patient with an emergency of result, it was incompatible”. His conclusion is final : “ASSE should never go down”.
An ignored whistleblower
These revelations confirm that relegation was not inevitable but the result of questionable strategic choices. Dall'oglio, who had led ASSE in Ligue 1, was not listened to when it was necessary to adapt to the requirements of the elite. His eviction in December 2024 now sounds like the elimination of an embarrassing witness who had seen right.
The final irony? Kilmer now says that
“Now this is the real project that takes place”. Dall'oglio responds with a bitter smile:
“Ah well, I understood that it was before, me”.
