Pep Guardiola is undoubtedly one of the best managers in football history.
Pep Guardiola excelled at FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich and now Manchester City, with whom he won another trophy on Wednesday night, beating Sevilla FC to win the European Super Cup.
It’s the first time Man City have won the trophy, but Guardiola has already won it four times, most recently in 2013 in his first season at Bayern Munich. His success rate in the competition is 100%.
According to Sportthe 2023 European Super Cup is the 36th trophy in Guardiola’s coaching career, meaning he is now the second most successful manager in terms of awards, overtaking Mircea Lucescu, who has 35.
He’s still a far cry from legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who won 49 titles in his illustrious career. However, the former FC Barcelona coach will no doubt be keen to break this record.
