Joao Felix’s future at Atlético de Madrid should be settled in the final weeks of the transfer market.
The Portuguese wants to leave and the Colchoneros want to facilitate his departure as soon as possible.
FC Barcelona are the favorites to sign Felix, although they are yet to make their choice for the 23-year-old. The new sporting director Deco is a big fan of his compatriot.
However, as reported El Desmarque, Atletico don’t want to let Felix join Barcelona this summer. The club’s general manager, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, will not authorize the transfer, which has raised tensions.
We do not know the reasons that push Gil Marin to act in this way. Maybe he doesn’t want to strengthen a direct competitor as Atletico will most likely compete with FC Barcelona for the La Liga title this season.
The problem for Atletico Madrid and Gil Marin is that interest in Felix is low at this stage, so they could be forced to let him go to Catalonia, even if they don’t want to.
