Antoine Griezmann is closely following Lionel Messi’s progress at Inter Miami, as the French star remains interested in a move to MLS.
Griezmann has previously stated that he would love to play in MLS as he has long been a fan of sports and American culture in general. Great players have come to the United States over the past two decades, but none have had the impact of Messi, who has already changed the league since arriving in the summer.
Since signing with bottom-placed Inter Miami, Messi has scored nine goals in six appearances, leading the club to the League Cup final. His former team-mate Antoine Griezmann is among those following La Pulga with interest, and the Atlético de Madrid star is considering a move to MLS as well in the future.
“Yes, I followed him”, said Griezmann when asked what he thinks of MLS. “Leo Messi is one of the best players in history. All the stadiums fill up when he plays and, since he is in the United States, he wins matches. I believe they are playing the final against Nashville. He’s an amazing player and I think the best thing MLS has done is to hire Leo for the publicity and also for the quality of the sport. It may be the image of football in the United States.
