Transferred this summer from Olympique Lyonnais to Manchester City for just over thirty-six million euros, Rayan Cherki has crossed a course in his career. But if their beginnings with the Skyblues were interesting, they were quickly stopped by a thigh injury. The tricolor international is, however, about to make his comeback.
Package for the last gathering of the Blues in early September, Rayan Cherki injured himself during the defeat of his team in Brighton (1-2). At the time, Pep Guardiola was very pessimistic about the possibility of a rapid return of French and spoke of “seven to eight weeks” of absence. This estimate was clearly not the right one.
Because as the team said on Tuesday, the former OL is about to resume competition, a month after this famous injury. The media, however, said that Cherki should not be operational on Wednesday for the trip to Monaco, as part of the second day of the Champions League League phase (9 p.m.).
Rayan Cherki back against Brentford?
On the other hand, it would appear much more likely to see him again in the Mancunian group this weekend, during the Cityzens trip on the side of Brentford on Sunday October 5 (5.30 p.m., 7th day of the Premier League).
Since he has been wearing the Sky and White Jersey of Manchester City, Rayan Cherki played 191 minutes, including 120 during the last club World Cup. He then participated in two championship games with a goal.
