Bad news for Real Madrid

Business does not manage for Real. After the big disappointment in the Madrid derby this Saturday (5-2), facing over-mobile colchoneros, Xabi Alonso is in bad shape. Despite a very good championship series with six wins in a row before the meeting, the Merengue fail to reassure against the major teams. The Spanish tactician has indeed lost the two “only” shocks he played, against Paris Saint-Germain during the Club World Cup (4-0) and therefore against Atlético de Madrid.

Add to these stinging defeats two very bad news. Indeed, the Madrid defense still took a hit at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Already an orphan of Trent Alexander-Arnold, injured in the hamstrings for even more than a month, and Antonio Rüdiger, hit in the thigh until next year, the White House recorded two new injured.

Carvajal and Militao injured

The first, less serious, is Eder Militao. Touched in the left ankle, the Brazilian left the stadium by boxing. Replaced by Raul Asencio at halftime, his non-participation in the Champions League match of tomorrow evening against Kairat Almaty is now official. The player does not appear in the Merengue group.

The second, more serious, is Dani Carvajal. The club announced its absence in a statement. For the right side, it is a
“Lesion from the sole to the right leg »»or in other words an injury towards the lower part of the calf. Four weeks of absence are announced for Spanish.

Xabi Alonso will therefore have to compose his defense using Alaba, Asencio, Carreras, Fran Garia, Huijsen and David Jiménez. On the right side, the probable options are to bring down Federico Valverde or to reposition Raul Asencio. In central defense, Aurélien Tchouamed will be operational and will be able to help out as he has already done under the orders of Carlo Ancelotti. Despite these few solutions, these two absences will be strongly detrimental for Real Madrid, which will face, among others, Juventus in the Champions League on October 22, then in stride FC Barcelona on October 26.
