Stade Rennais, what indignity!

This Sunday evening, Stade Rennais welcomed the Racing Club of Lens in the closing match of the sixth day of Ligue 1. From the 53rd second of play, Jonathan Gradit was excluded by the referee Bastien Dechepy.

The blood and gold defender had previously committed a big mistake on Seko Fofana, who was going to goal. Despite their numerical inferiority, the men of Pierre Sage did better than resist their Breton hosts. The best occasions of the first period were to be put to their credit.

In the second period, as incredible as it may seem, the Lensois continued their domination. Adrien Thomasson found the post (58th), Morgan Guilavogui saw his heads passing right next to the goal of Brice Samba (65th and 67th).

Reindeer, blatant technical poverty

Technically, the Bretons showed great weakness. The supporters who made the trip to Roazhon Park did not spare their players by whistling them several times. Esteban Lepaul nevertheless succeeded in a “papinade”, forcing Robin Risser to make a sublime stop to preserve his inviolated cage (84th).

Following this zero and virgin result (0-0), Rennes and Lens appear in the seventh and eighth places in Ligue 1, with ten and nine points respectively. For Sang and Gold, in inferiority on the outside during almost all of the meeting, this result is akin to a mini-exploit.
