A golden ball bonus for Dembélé?

Crowned Ballon d'Or 2025, Ousmane Dembélé can expect a small financial jackpot in the coming times, failing to pocket a sum of money directly linked to the France Football award.

The site Capital.fr Specifies it to its readers but it is absolute evidence for the followers of the round ball: Ousmane Dembélé, crowned Ballon d'Or 2025 Monday evening, does not receive money from the organizer of the individual reward (namely France Football, of the group L'Equipe). The new winner leaves with a replica of the magnificent trophy, made of brass and placed on pyrite, a precious stone, as well as a watch from the Swiss watchmaker Purnell.

For “Dembouz”, there is no question of money when entering the history of his sport by becoming the sixth French player to register his name in the Bo list after Raymond Kopa (1958), Michel Platini (1983, 1984 and 1985), Jean-Pierre Papin (1991), Zinedine Zidane (1998) and Karim Benzema (2022).

By joining PSG in 2023 to rub shoulders with a Kylian Mbappé much closer to the Ballon d'Or, Dembélé did not negotiate a Ballon d'Or bonus with its new leaders. The 28-year-old French international, who comes out of an XXL season at 35 goals and 14 assists, may perhaps obtain a salary revaluation with the club possessed by Qatar, he who is linked until 2028.

Ousmane Dembélé not like Kylian Mbappé

In addition to Mbappé, who had negotiated a golden ball bonus of 500,000 euros with PSG, in 2018, Neymar had asked the same leaders a bonus of three million euros in the event of an individual coronation! Already crowned before, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi would have pocketed almost 5 million euros from their club, respectively in 2017 and 2019.

Ousmane Dembélé will probably offer other sponsors of choice, even if he already has a lease of several years with his equipment supplier Adidas (who anticipated his Ballon d'Or with a pub campaign). Cristiano Ronaldo, who was certainly more bankable by playing in Real Madrid, had for example won contracts with Emirates and Samsung Electronics in 2013.
