New victory for the LFP. The Professional Football League can now act upstream against the sites that illegally broadcast Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches, after a decision by the Paris court announced on Monday. According to the LFP, “The president of the Paris judicial court ordered dereference by Google and Bing search engines of illegal streaming sites”thus allowing to cut access to the platforms broadcasting live meetings.
Once dereferenced, the sites concerned no longer appear in the results of search engines. This measure also targets the IPTV services, which offer the illegal retransmission of protected content via the Internet at derisory prices. Other sites could be added to this list during the season, and gradually disappear from the results of search engines.
Other sites soon concerned
The LFP intends to go further by requesting the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom) in order to extend these dereferences to new pirate platforms identified during the season. Already in July, the body had obtained blocking measures against certain incriminated sites.
These actions seem to bear fruit. The Ligue 1+ platform, launched on August 15, has already exceeded one million subscribers only one month after its launch. This result is also
