Prestige poster this Saturday in Ligue 2, between two former residents of the elite: Saint-Etienne received Reims in a well-stocked Geoffroy-Guichard. A duel at the top between contenders for the climb that held all its promises, offering intensity, show and no less than five goals.
The Greens struck the first thanks to Lucas Stassin, ideally placed to conclude closely (1-0, 27th). The Belgian striker almost doubled the launch a few minutes later, but his attempt found the post (29th). Reims took advantage of this respite to return to the penalty score by Teddy Teuma (1-1, 43rd). But just before the break, Stassin offered his double and gave the advantage to his own (2-1, 45th).
Reims tried to come back
As soon as the locker room returns, Saint-Etienne took off. On a clear action, Igor Miladinovic sparked a sumptuous strike which finished his race in full skylight, practically sealing the fate of the meeting (3-1, 48th). Despite a new achievement signed Teuma (3-2, 69th), the Rémois could never reverse the trend against solid and inspired Stéphanois.
With this success, ASSE confirms its excellent start to the season and retains first place in the championship with 14 points in six days. Reims, for its part, remains stuck in the soft belly in the ranking and sees its ambition of immediate rise already upset.
