Five out of five! Real Madrid, led by Eder Militao and Kylian Mbappé, welcomed Espanyol Barcelona for the fifth day of Liga. The Madrilenians won 2-0 in the Santiago-Bernabéu, in a two-faces match: a first half leaving something to be desired, followed by a much more convincing second.
Real Madrid did not wait to be dangerous. As of kick -off, Xabi Alonso's men monopolized the ball and multiplied the offensives. Kylian Mbappé, very in -depth, was at the heart of the actions, but his first attempts did not find the framework. The first ten minutes showed a dominating real in possession, but still imprecise in the last gesture.
The deliverance came in the 22nd minute: on a strike from far away, Eder Militao set a real cannon shot at almost 30 meters, destroying the opposing skylight and offering the advantage to the Real. The rest of the first period was more slow. Espanyol lacked precision in front of the cages and struggled to be dangerous, while Real struggled to create real opportunities.
Mbappé, full cardboard
The second period started under better auspices for Madrid. From the 49th minute, Mbappé found the net, scoring his fifth goal in five Liga matches. Five minutes later, he borders on the double. Well served by a ladle of mastanuono in the area, he tries a lob on Dmitrovic, which borders on the frame. The Frenchman then chained attempts in the surface, while multiplying defensive returns.
Mbappé continued his efforts until it was released in the 89th minute, leaving its place to Jude Bellingham, back after a shoulder injury. Real Madrid thus won 2-0, pockets the three points and remains undefeated in Liga, also inflicting on Espanyol Barcelona its first defeat of the season.
