Major League Soccer has a new king: Heung-min sound. Arrived at Los Angeles FC in August, the South Korean striker did not only score goals: he also revolutionized club merchandising. His number 7 jersey was snatched like never before, spraying the Lionel Messi record in Inter Miami with nearly 1.5 million copies sold in just one month.

The sound effect is also felt digital. The official accounts of the LAFC have seen their number of subscribers double, and videos linked to the club exploded, displaying an increase of 594 % of views in August, for an impressive total of almost 34 billion views, as reported RMC. A wave of enthusiasm that exceeds everything that MLS has known so far.

Messi outdated

Even Gareth Bale, another star passed by Los Angeles, had never triggered such a craze. John Tarrington, Vice-President of the LAFC, confirms: “The impact of sound on our networks and our image is five times higher than that of Bale. »» The MLS discovers a new commercial and media dimension thanks to the South Korean.

On the ground, his already imposes his law: five goals and two assists in six games placed the LAFC at the top of the Western Conference. But it is above all his exploits out of the field that is talking: he tripled the record of jerseys sold by Messi, transforming each match into a real event for fans.
